This may not sound like a big deal to some of you, but imagine a 40 mile an hour wind blowing sand in your face while you try to carry 30 to 50 pounds of gear on your back, a weapon in your hand and wrestle with a long strip of fabric across your face to try to keep the sand out of your mouth and nose and still keep your helmet on your head. Doesn`t sound like much fun does it?
This new design will stay in place under a hat or helmet and keep the soldiers nose and mouth covered to keep the sand out. No more constantly having to pull up the scarf over their nose or adjusting it every couple minutes.
The sand scarf is 100% cotton so it will wash and wear well and is desert tan in color so it will blend in well with the uniforms currently being worn.
Shallyn has agreed to allow you to purchase the sand scarves for donation and shipping through Keystone Soldiers. She is also donating a portion of the proceeds from every sale to us to help keep the care packages going to our troops. Of course you can also purchase the sand scarves for your own soldier or soldiers and have them mailed to you or mailed directly to the soldier.
