2005-01-03, University of Rochester Center for Future Health - Ed Schlueter joined the University of Rochester`s Center for Future Health as Entrepreneur-in-Residence.(PRWEB) January 3, 2005 -- The University of Rochester’s Center for Future Health today announced that Ed Schlueter has joined its team as Entrepreneur-in-Residence. “We invite Ed to help us enhance our program to engage the community`s vast technical resources in targeted projects,” said Cecelia Horwitz, associate director of the Center for Future Health. “Ed brings key skills in the areas of project management, medical informatics, and connectivity to the local community to the Center. His market knowledge and skills in the management of medical diagnostic information will complement the existing technology research and deployment activities at the Center.” Ed spends four hours a week at the Center to: - Help identify new initiatives bringing together technical people in the community with the Center for Future Health`s proactive health research projects. - Collaborating on new program initiatives, such as research into understanding changes in motion as an indicator of health About the Center for Future Health The Center for Future Health (www.futurehealth.rochester.edu/) is a focused research program that develops the needed technologies for self care, mobile care, and home care. This is an inter-disciplinary team of physicians, health practitioners, bio-organic chemists, computer scientists, informaticists, engineers, and behavioral scientists. The team is working towards inventing smart technology and wireless systems that allow consumers to maintain health, detect the onset of health problems and manage disease. The vision is for the data that is collected to reside in the home and be interpreted by the software into health intelligence. This personal record will be in a form that is usable by consumers. Consumers can share the information with their medical providers, if they choose.
