In 15 of the past 18 years, there has been an increase in the number of missing children. Most abductions happen in broad daylight in a matter of seconds. About half of the children abducted, are between 4 and 11 years old, the rest are over 12 years old. 74% are girls and 23% are boys. Every minute 8,800 children end up in the hospital were medical records are needed. Police receive over 2,000 missing child reports every day. Statistics from the U.S. department of Justice places the chances of your child being abducted at an amazing 1 in 42. Nearly 70% of all abducted children in the U.S. are kidnapped by a family member or someone that the parent knows.
